What kind of prep is needed for tail lights before spraying with VHT aerosol can?

Hey Schlotzky, how do you like your new tires? Brand, model size, price?

i used a 3M scuff pad to get em nice and rough so the paint would stick.

lol and i'll answer for schlotsky - they're OE Wheels, they look fantastic, he's got em staggered, 17x9.5 in front, 18x10.5 out back, and edit: they're around $650 a set.

I use SEM plastic/leather prep and SEM plastic adhesion promoter for painting plastics, but a decent rub down with paint thinner or even dawn is usually enough to get decent results with Niteshades.

I actually have 9.5 wide all around, but otherwise, yes. lol. Tires are Riken Raptors (made by Michelin) 275/40/17 & 275/35/18. $190 per up front and $220 per out back seems to ring a bell. They seem to be quieter than my 245 Bridgestone Potenzas despite being wider, and grip much better, but that could be entirely due to the size. I haven't done any performance tests per say (car has been in storage), but they seem to have great response and grip in all conditions. No word on wear yet.

It's extremely easy to take them off, you just take the trunk panels out, pull the carpet back, and there are two plastic wing nuts to get the lights off. It's more work to tape off the lights than it is to take them off.

I have aftermarket tail lights that have a clear plastic lens... I wonder how it would look if I VHTed the inside of the lens instead of the outside...

anyone tried/seen this?

ok wow that was alot easier. do i have to take the bumper off to get to the turn signals? or is there an easier way?
