I took out my center console today. I wanted to install my electric cutout switch in the spot for my cig lighter (the one next to the little cubby hole). I tried removing the metal piece from the plastic housing and couldnt get tthe two to separate. Any tips on getting the actual metal portion of the cig lighter outta that hole?
2000 firebird btw, idk if setups are different on other years.
it should just push out. If not than try to turn it with a pair of channel locks.
I noticed you could remove the plastic piece, along with the metal piece. I wanna separate the two. Wouldnt budge. Might break out some pliers and go to work tomorrow. thanks!
do birds have the fliptop ashtray right before the shifter at the center console? in camaros we have one with a removable ashtray insert which is perfect to hide the electric cutout switch under --- worked beautifully for me and is very stealth.
I took out my ashtry and made a plate out of abs plastic for 2 switches, use to have them for nitrous but will use them for my methanol kit and Aeroforce gauge turn on.
