I'm planning on doing the whistler mod to my headlights this weekend. What black spray paint would you recommend for the best results? I read the cardomain "how-to" page, but I don't believe it gave a brand.
Use something that works with plastic. Krylon Fusion is one example; most brands have a formula designed for plastic use. I would probably use the SEM 3 step cleaner/adhesion promotor/paint process but that's just me. Satin black will get you a factory 'new plastic' look. I've never actually seen the whistler mod in person so I can't say what most people use, but if I were to do it, I'd use satin black. Flat might look alright as well, but I think gloss would probably look cheesy. (again, haven't seen it in person so I can't say for sure, but headlights that come from the factory have the equivalent of satin black)
use vht high temp engine enamel in flat black. it is the best for the application hands down.
