Re: tail light replacement
well actually i found some taillights on ebay from a 98 so no worries...and ya you can fail for non stock tail lights..I live in missouri and supposively some new law says all tail lights must be "red", so no smoked lights or aftermarket silver ones or LEDs..the inspector said the tail light must be red which in my opinion is stupid but i got an extra pair of OEM lights on the way so whenever inspection rolls around I'll take off the blacked out lights and put the OEMs on..

my friend installed fog lights on the bumper of his jeep, and one went out, and he failed inspection for it.

Re: tail light replacement
yes the '93-97 style tails will fit --- i put them in my '02 with nothing more than a pocket knife to gouge out the sockets just barely so the stock bulbs would lock into the housings. everything works fine, and they look much better (especially niteshaded). i didn't have to rewire a single thing and mine function perfectly --- just use common sense to see which bulbs should go where.
and no you wont fail inspection for having them either, or else every ricer with euro lights would be constantly swapping theirs out.pacesetters|full 3" borla exhaust|3" stainless e-cutout|slp cai & ram intake|c/f whisper lid|tbs|eibach|kyb|stb|sfc's|adj.lca's & phb|slp fan|b&m t5|180*|z06 17x9.5|8000k hids|hptuners|d/s rotors
