does anyone know if the 93-97 tail lights would fit and wire up correctly in an 02 camaro?

    Re: tail light replacement

They'll physically fit and will technically work, but not in the same way they'll work on the 93-97. ie the turn signals will will be the inside, etc. It's not too much work to rewire them though or change out the harness.

in the real world? it should fail.

the chance of it actually failing for having different housings in are maybe .001%

You could fail safety inspection for not having 100% stock lights??

well actually i found some taillights on ebay from a 98 so no worries...and ya you can fail for non stock tail lights..I live in missouri and supposively some new law says all tail lights must be "red", so no smoked lights or aftermarket silver ones or LEDs..the inspector said the tail light must be red which in my opinion is stupid but i got an extra pair of OEM lights on the way so whenever inspection rolls around I'll take off the blacked out lights and put the OEMs on..

you can fail for having any upgrade to the car that did not come from the factory that deals with the safety of the car (so you can put a body kit on, or tires that arent stock.. but not lights, etc)

my friend installed fog lights on the bumper of his jeep, and one went out, and he failed inspection for it.

at least that is what PA is like, i dont know about other places

Dang. Glad there are no inspections of any kind here.

                      Re: tail light replacement

yes the '93-97 style tails will fit --- i put them in my '02 with nothing more than a pocket knife to gouge out the sockets just barely so the stock bulbs would lock into the housings. everything works fine, and they look much better (especially niteshaded). i didn't have to rewire a single thing and mine function perfectly --- just use common sense to see which bulbs should go where.

and no you wont fail inspection for having them either, or else every ricer with euro lights would be constantly swapping theirs out.
