  • 10.5 year old car still shines

Not bad, especially given that my car sits out in the south Florida sun day after day. I put a coat of wax on the car the other day and I am havng people comment how shiny my car is.

I've used Meguires NXT Tech Wax for the past several years - it seems to help a lot. The GM clear coat is very good to have held up this long.

No new pictures right now - sorry.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I've been impressed with the GM paint as well. Both of my cars at 14 and 15 years old shine very nicely with a little attention. The NXT Tech Wax is a nice on too.

NXT is a good wax. If my car wasn't black I would be using that too.

Turtle Wax Black Box is the best thing I've ever used and believe me I have a collection of wax.

I'd agree. I use the Tech Wax on my Buick, but just a simple wax doesn't cut it on black, you're left with holograms and spider webs. I've still yet to find anything that gets rid of the swirls entirely, but the black box is one of the best options.

i agree, my car is sebring silver, but the paint has held up awesome, everyone always tells me my car looks amazing, and i have parked it outside 24/7, and driven it through 5 winters.

i am starting to get some rust bubbles around the drivers side wheel well though

I'm sure he's talking about the quarter panel. But no, the front fenders aren't fiberglass, they are composite. I believe the only fiberglass is the B-pillar and the doors.

                      The hatch is fiberglass also.

I think the reflectivity of a silver colored car helps alot. I've noticed that the painted surface of my car never gets very hot. Plus it never looks dirty.
