Does anyone know of them, if they exist? Not just plugging an LED bulb in, but an actual housing for the front turn signals with LED's built in. I have seen 1 before, but I don't know if it was custom made. Mucho Gracias.

Funny that i was actually thinking of making something like this for my self.. im pretty sure that it would have been custom make.. i was going to make a housing for the LED's and then get a smoke cover to cover the flawsWait, Is that a V6 or V8?

I've been checking ebay at least once a month for the past 4ish years for this kinda thing. Nothing yet. I've considered making one as well, and that's probably what I'll end up doing.Comment

schlotzky, would what you make be reliable? I have no idea how to wire leds. I did have an idea though to just get some of those LED strips, like you used in your hood vents, and do it that way. I don't want to put a lot of time and effort into it for some led's to burn out in 2 weeks. I'm not really sure if the LED strips would be bright enough for me as I'll want to black out whatever I do, but for clear corners that might be enough. 3 per side or so, dremel the housing apart, silicon them in and put it back together. Wire a resistor from the low filament to the power lead and a straight wire from the high filament lead. Those LED strips are waterproof so you should be okay for a while at least.
I'd probably buy some 10mm LEDs and some optics and wire them all individually inside the housing to make an array. Obviously this would be more in depth, but would end up being brighter.Comment

Wiring LEDs is pretty straightforward. You can google it and get a million hits. And LED calculators are very helpful also. Just remember our cars are on a 12 volt system but its actually putting out 13-14 volts when the car is running. I was going to use LEDs on my project I'm starting but decided to go with cold cathode tubes, but I should have gone with LEDs because cathodes can't be dimmed.

Nicely executed. I'd probably do it more like my tails though, and put a resistor on the running portion so that two strips would be dull and used for running lights, then the high filament would illuminate the two others at full and also bring the other two to full. Just needs a diode and a resistor.Comment
