Either GM paint, or go with one of the name brand paints but their expensive, i just went with GM paint , pick it up at the parts counter. I did the black box on it last week and i was amazed how well it came out, of coure I used a 8" buffer but still for a after market paint job it just had a deep gloss shine. But the guy did end up doing like 4 coats of paint and 6 coats of clear. My sealer, primer, paint and clear came out to about $400-$500 with a discount.

I have used X-treme clear coat before and had good results. Ive always thought House of Kolor had some of the best paint you could buy though.

Kustomshop.com has some good paint. It's owned by a guy named Ed Hubbs. He's an awesome paint/airbrush artist and he does a lot of restoration. You can look on youtube for him and see what you think. But you can't go wrong with the suggestions the others have given you. HOK is awesome.

for color i would save sum money and get omni and just get sum ppg ceramic clear coat its standard on bmws and stuff but its nice and tough. its never about the paint you use its about the preperation..... always.... and always will be

The shop I used uses PPG. They painted our truck and my spoiler. I've had the spoiler redone 5 times and it has a giant crack in it now where the paint is shrinking. The truck has been partly redone twice and the entire roof has shrunk significantly and the hood is showing signs as well. I doubt the paint is the problem more than the shop's preparation, but it is still very irritating.

I know the guys did a good prep on my car when painted but didn't clean it up after they cut and buffed it out, it was a mess when they were through. When I buffed it out using the Black Box it came to life, and they did a decent job using the GM paint and clear coat. I could tell the difference from a Earl Schiebs paint job and a real nice preped and painted one, esp using a different color. Also using quality paint products to keep up the paint is a must , I will always use a buffer when I wax my car , turns out so much better.

If you want to go the cheaper route I heard Dupont Paint and Sherwin Williams are good. My civic's rear quater panel was painted with Dupont and I couldn't tell the difference between the original and that. It never faded either.

X2 they it as well on mine when it was white , came out pretty good, prepping is the main concern and good clear coats.
