hey ya'll, just wondering if anybody has tried this headlight stuff ive seen advertised in the back pages of road & track & motor trend that looks like a clear plastic film you peel & stick right overtop of the face of your headlights? recently scored a set of lights for my '98 (the old ones were beyond polishing out) that look cherry but now i wanna protect them from turning yellow/milky like my old set did, or maybe a wax type application product that might help, or a clear plastic cover (all i can find are smoke tinted ones on rks site) ??? thanks

    Re: headlight protection

Of course if you take something and cover the headlight, more then likely its gonna protect the housing. But that thing you stuck on over the headlight will become damaged and cloudy and in result affect your light out out and will look bad.

Ive never tried wax though....it might work, but it also might just make a gross coating over the top.

      Re: headlight protection

Both my cars have glass headlights, but I make a practice of waxing the plastic covers on headlights. The cars i've done it on are generally a final coat after polishning the lights but it seems to increase the life of the plastic. The stuff I usually use is specifically made for plastics but regular wax seems to work fine too.

I polish and wax the headlights on my car. Helps to keep them clean and makes the bugs come off easier. Not sure how well it'll keep them from clouding up again.
