This was just an idea. I want LED tail lights, but not just the bulbs. I hate aftermarket lights, but thought of getting the led tail lights and swapping my 93-97 covers onto the led ones, of course after fabbing up the corrections to make the reverse light functional. WHat do you guys think? I'm talking about the led tails thegreatschlotzky has.

Re: LED tail light thought...
I have the aftermarket ones that are blacked out now. I gave up on the 93-96 covers because of the way the optics are formed onto the lens that effectively dissipates the light for incandescent (omni-directional) lights, but thoroughly destroys LED (directional) light.
Also, the oven trick doesn't work for the tail lights, it just melts the lenses while the glue stays rock solid. The headlights are made to withstand the heat, the tail lights just go limp. The only way to use the 93-96 covers would be to sand smooth the inside, but that would pretty much ruin the effect.

Eh, it was an idea that sounded easier than accomplished. I like the stock ones but wanted led technology.#1:1999 pewter metallic y87 rs A4 camaro.check out the pics on the link below
#2:Bright red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I know about superbrightleds... I wanted the full led tail lights, with a stock look. It's a project but when I am done it'll be original; and t!ts.#1:1999 pewter metallic y87 rs A4 camaro.check out the pics on the link below
#2:Bright red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.
