  • Air dam?

There's a large plastic air dam (assuming) under the front end of my car, I hate it, what's the pro's and con's of taking it off?

Same story with the nasty plastic grille on the front. Note, my state requires a front license plate though.

    Only Cons no Pro's.

Your car will overheat on the highway.

Do not remove it unless you want to do a rebuild on your engine.

The grill no biggy,go to Summit Racing and get a Billet Grill.

I tried taking mine off because it would scrap the driveway but the engine ran hot. I ended up cutting some of the bottom off and solved my problem. Looks better too. I also run a 160* thermostat with an aftermarket fan relay to turn the fan on sooner.

If you take it off then you risk overheating, it pulls up air to the radiator and condensor. I love it wheen people post my car just started over heating bacause they took the air dam off , it also is hard on your hoses , excess heat. If you live in a state where its 60-70 degrees all year round then its up to you. In AZ even in cars overheat with out it, summer you won't get 10-15 miles without one. When my car was white , I had it painted same as the car , looks alot better, since I run the RK sport extend air damm to pick up more air with my ground effects.

Well, Colorado really isn't known for heat, but I'd rather just trim it (if that works) but my car is black anyhow, so that really doesn't help any.

lol how is it ugly? you have to be like 6 inches off the ground or like 50 feet away at an angle to even see it. the only time i even know its there is when i scrape the piss out of it on something.

                Re: Air dam?

Because I have an upward sloping driveway and I see it every time I walk to my car... And I can't back our of my driveway to the left because it would kill a sprinkler head, and going straight scrapes, but right means I have to flip a U-turn EVERY TIME I leave my house. Annoying.

Those look like Hella FF75s. Wouldn't matter which he removed so long as he has headlights. I'm guessing those are driving beams though.
