  • ZR1 wheels from SLP

    hi,
    I have a question for my 2001 3.8V6 Camaro
i really like the ZR1 wheels from SLP, they are 17" x 8",

do they fit on a 2001 Camaro without any problems with clearance , i don't know if they only fit on a 3rd generation Camaro

you can get 17 x 9.5 that will will fine on a 2001 just depends on your tires.
    Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?

      Hi, thanks for the responce,
but i don't want 9,5" wheels, if the 17"x8" wheels fit, i can use the 245 tire, with a 9,5" wheel, it has to be a 275.
      I have a 3.8V6 Camaro, and i don't like a 275 tire on a V6 Camaro, it's too big.

You need to find out what the offset of those wheels is. They will bolt up, but they will stick out too far if they are made for the 3rd gens.

these arent for your car, like said above i dont think the backspacing is right on these.

275s arent that big.... I think the only wat you can find a 8inch wide zr1 rim is if you get the limited zr1 wheels that came on slp camaros from like 95-97. I had a set for my firebird, they were 16x8, grey, with polished lip.

            hi, thanks for the responce,
My Camaro has the original 16x8" snowflakes, with 245/50/ZR16 tires.
this size of tire is rare in Europe, Goodyear and Michelin has a tire that will fit, but they won't sell it in Europe, only in America.
If i switch to 17x8" wheels, i can use 245/45/ZR17, and this is a regular size of tire.

what??? the bigger the wheel the better. Small tires make a car look weak. 275's look so good from the rear.

I believe hes saying 275s are rare where he lives....since they are rare they are more expensive and he wants to avoid that.

the problem is, we do have cars here in Europe who have big tires, but they always have big rims, like the new Camaro.

the combination with 16"rims and 245 tire is very rare, and this is also with 17"rim and 275.

If i want new tires for my original snowflakes with tire 245/50/ZR16, i have to order it in the USA, and ship them.

You need to find out the offset of those wheels in order to verify if they will work or not. Email the company or see if you can find it online. Acceptable offsets for an 8" wide wheel on a 4th gen would be around +38mm to +56mm.
