Center Console Storage

As petty as it is, I am not a fan of the inside center console storage compartment in our cars. The little notches to hold cassette and CD cases. I never knew anyone who used them anyway. Wouldn't it be nice if there was an aftermarket piece, form fitting and made of black plastic, and you can just slip it down in there and have a smooth storage compartment.

I'm also irritated with the small cubby compartment next to the cigarette lighter. It will barely hold my BlackBerry, much less anything else.

If only I had the talent to fabricate something...

get a dremmel tool and just grind the ribs off, if you do it carefully it should look alright.

I agree with you bud, but alot of stuff in our car's interior needs refinement.

I've been looking around on other GM cars with similar console lay outs, I want to get one from a junker or something and try to test fit it into my car but haven't bit the bullet yet.

I actually have golf balls, sunglasses, mints from Sonic, and change in there... I like to hit golf balls with baseball bats on occasion so I keep them around.

And the one by the cig lighter, I use that for my Berry scented air freshener..

I removed the cigarette lighter and dremeled the center out and used an aluminum plate to install my radio. If you need a plate let me know I think I still have the template.

Is there any room under the rear seats to fit in some stowage containers? Like if you REALLY started cutting **** up? I can just see putting our cheap rear seat cushions on hinges and turning them into container lids.... Sorry, I started daydreaming there for a moment.

When I took my interior apart and removed the console I found about 200 cigarette butts all wedged under the shifter. It's a wonder that guy didn't start the car on fire!
