For those either replacing your ground effect pieces on the rocker panels or adding them to another car. I bet you've either been pulling your hair out looking for the T shaped plastic clips, forked over $7+ a piece at the dealer or quit looking and used a secondary method.
I was in your shoes until last weekend at the Pull a Part.....no I didn't find a set on a razed RS. I did remember during my online search that a Ford clip looked very much like the one, yes one I had. A neighbor and I were in the Ford section getting some parts off a Thunderbird. Right next to it was a Ford Minivan with plastic rocker covers. One was lose so I took a look and Viola...T clips...After taking all of them off the van (they have more on one van than you need for the Camaro, we walked over to a Ranger with plastic rockers. We pulled one off and found the same clips. Seems they used them on many vehicles, unlike GM that used these only on a Camaro RS. So I paid the extortion of 50 cents a piece and went home.
They fit perfect! The slots in the rocker cover have two holes next to them for retention details. These have them and snap right into place like they belong there. Since I was adding the RS pieces to my car I had to drill the holes. The size I used was .3125 (5/16) with the spacing I measured off the RS pieces from the back wheel well.
