  • What is the OE 16" rim specs?

Been trying to find the specs (width and offset) on the stock 16" rim, specifically the 5 spoke start used on the 98 and up Firebirds.

Looking at the after market ZR-1 rims 17x9.5, and I see that the offset is different depending on who makes them. OEW wheels is 56mm offset, Wheel Replicas are 38mm, and Factory Reproductions offer them in both a 38 and 50 mm offset.

Want the wheel to fit right, not too far set into the wheel well.

Sure this has been discussed before, just can't find anything with the search.

    I found this on camaroz28.com:

    The stock wheels are:

    16x8 55mm offset = approx 6-5/8" BS
    17x9 55mm offset = approx 7-1/8" BS

    All 4th Gens, C4's and C5's are 5 lugs on a 4.75" bolt circle.

For 17x9.5" wheels, you need an offset in the range of 40mm (very close to being outside the fender) to 56mm (very close to hitting the steering knuckle.

    Hope that helps.
