ya, and it's weight savings to...something like 12lbs irrc?? I'm trying to figure out what I need to get in order to make it work for a hardtop car though...having trouble finding info for that...most info seems to revolve around T-top cars.
i believe that it is a gain of weight from a hardtop. i know when i did my t top conve. i added weight.
U think so? They were saying the fiberglass piece weighs as much as 1 T-top, I was thinking of getting the carbon fiber one, only because it's already black and costs $250 more...which is what it would already cost me to paint the fiberglass one, and then I have to worry about the paint not being 100% perfect etc etc etc...
I can't see my metal roof being lighter than 12 lbs...the brackets might add some weight, but I dont know...
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

The roof skin is already a sort of fiber composite material. Only the metal supports you'd be taking out would weigh much. Given the brackets added, I'd think the weight would be pretty similar to hard top.
Personally though, I'd still much rather have T-Tops. I don't see any pictures of the inside of the car, but I know for fact the T-Tops will look more factory and more finished. I even think the factory targa top in my buddies C5 vette is a little cheap looking from the inside. I just don't see how this is any better than T-Tops.
Still, cool idea. Just not worth the difference to me.
cool concept, where do you store it when it is off? Also I would miss looking up at the sky through the T's
Valid point and x2 lol sky gazing via t-top FTW.
regardless this is a cool concept, cool color contrast and such can come from this.
Wait, Is that a V6 or V8? 1990 Chevrolet C-K 1500 series 4.3L .. 5spd
1994 JDM Euno Roadster 1.8L 5spd Bolt Ons.. etc 2000 Camaro 3.8L Auto Bolt Ons..etc
well some of us don't have T-tops to look through....I'm not crazy about the lines on the top, but I think it looks awesome with the top off...put the top in trunk or the back seat...I think someone said that the top fits across the upper portion of the trunk
I wouldn't do it so much for the weight savings as I would the looks and function of it.
As far as the finished look...well thats going to come with what you put into it...you can make a custom headliner for it...I'm sure if you put some effort in you could make it look quite nice.
Sure, you could make it look nice. But then, if you put enough time any money into anything you can make it look nice. And when you're spending 800 bucks on just the roof piece, I would hope it looked more finished. I'm not saying they're charging too much, just that it doesn't seem much different than T-Tops to me other than you can't see out of it when its on and there is just slightly more open air when it's off.
If you like it, go for it. I just don't see why someone would go that route when T-Tops are so much more easily attainable and cheaper, and imo, more practical and more functional, and look more finished.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
