carbon fiber camaro

What do you guys think of having an entire camaro wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl?

I was looking into this earlier and I thought it looked sweeet on some cars, and it's cheaper than a paint job.

Looks like you can get flat black or pretty much anything wrapped on your car.

Place over here gurantees their work for 3 years (warranty) and say it should last 5+ years. Also it doesn't damage the paint underneath.

I've sent out some emails for some quotes, but looks like I've been seeing most people say it costs about $2,000 to have done (beats a 3-4000$ paint job though. And it probably more durable when it comes to scratches and rock chips)

You should definitely wrap your car with vinyl. After watching that video you could just do it yourself. But no really that looks like a PITA to install. I dont care for the lambo with the carbon fiber look, but the other cars look pretty cool. You could probably wrap all kinds of accessories or interior pieces with that stuff.

Who cares if it's fake? It looks clean...plus if I were to do it I would probably grab a nice carbon fiber hood. I'd probably look into getting real carbon fiber body parts if they made any, but they really don't.

I'm just sick of the swirls and scratches and paint chips on my car...I've had parts of the car repainted and it starts cracking and flaking after a year or two atleast with carbon fibre or the wrap I don't have to worry about paint chips or swirls...and you get a nice texture from it and still have that shine.

You definetly can install this yourself and save a ton of money, ya it would be a b*tch, but definetly possible...would I trust myself? I dunno...I'm hearing 2000$ for material and labour done...that doesn't seem that bad...I wonder what the material alone to cover the car would go for though?

looks like it's a different kind of carbon design.

I'm usually not one for carbon fiber, I've hummed and hawed about getting a carbon fiber hood on my car and I'm a black camaro...I don't know how I feel about cars with different colour hoods, but when the whole body matches I think it actually looks pretty sharp...

How about this firebird...hard to see it in some pictures but I think it gives it a nice two tone look, kind of like a flat shine. (stolen from LS1tech)

If it were real it'd be a different story. To me, it's almost like getting an autozone M3 scoop and taping it to your hood. I can totally understand the frustration with paint though. Maybe just a solid color?

I actually like it. But I would do white before black. And it would have to have a glossy finish too it. I dont like the flat matte look. Still sexy though:tup:

Just makes the body panel fitment issues on the 4th gen look just that much more apparent...
