  • Goo left by window tint

I took of the window tint film off my back window on my 2k Camaro
as it did nothing but obstruct my vision as the car is always hot as
hell if it sits for more that 4 minutes in the hot Florida sun. Well the
adhesive stays on the window and I have having a hell of a time to get it off. I tried a steamer...then I tried amonia...then scratch remover..then
wd 40 then vasoline....anyone REALLY know what works?

Well. Take it to a professional. The only thing that works is a razor blade.

I am getting that impression is that the only thing that works IS

Use amonia on it should leave it with no resido. Do like a 10:1 solution with water.

Any solvent will "help" But you def need a razorblade. It is a total pain the a$$. I've used goo gone, alcochol, tint remover, and none of it really took it off...but it helps. It's wicked time consuming. Good luck.

I've always used steel wool to get stuff off my windows. And it cleans them like nothing else too.

I had to take my wint off 2 weeks ago because I got pulled over for it. I used a semi-rough rag and a whole lot of elbow grease to get the goo off. It got it all off but it is just a little exhausting to do. Also if you dab gasoline on the rag you use that seems to help a tiny bit.

Bought some liquid designed to do just that take off the film...bought at Walmart...it goes back if it does not work.
Found out that without the black film on the back of the Camaro
it does NOT heat up in side parked like it used to...the black
                  attracts the sun...then heat.

I've got no tint, and my car seriously gets like 120 if I leave the windows up all day, and I'm in Colorado...

Its because of the giant windshield and hatch allowing ridiculous amounts of sun in, plus even more if you have t-tops.

I had to remove tint when I bought my 94 bird, steam and some orange based solvent stuff, and elbow grease did the trick.
