  • tire size question

Ok I'm no tire expert by any means and honestly don't know much about them. With that being said I ordered wheels from oewheels and the tire sizes he recommended for a 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear wheels were FRONT: 265/40/17 REAR 295/35/18
Now I just realized that my stock 17x9 SS wheels had 275's on them. Is the 265 going to be too small for a 9.5 rim? I think the guy I may have talked to is either an idiot, or maybe I am and just don't understand. From what I gather, he should have recommended a 275 for the front. Any takers?

Also, I read somewhere that some tires run larger than their actual size similar to shoes, so for what its worth, the tires are continental extreme contact DW tires.

    I would think 275 on 9.5" rim would be standard esp. on a F-body. I don't know about fitting a 265 series on a 9.5" rim.

How hard was this? They don't come in 275.

My bad. I looked at the Spec page. It's not in the list - it's at the top. LOL

Its cool it threw me off at first too... im just trying to figure out why they insisted on a 265... and now that they've sent them off and they're en route I wonder how much of a hassle they'll give me to exchange them. Anyone have return issues before with oewheels?

You shouldn't have any problems, they should of asked about bigger sizing. Good luck though.

                  Re: tire size question

I hope not... I don't want to settle for a half *** smaller than my stock size tire.

Thats a Vette size for later C5's.

275's will fit no prob stock WS6 and SS rims were only17"x9".

You may even be able to fit a 315/35/18 on that 10.5" rear rim:rock:
