  • Leather/suede wrapped interior

Just been searching around and have some thoughts about spicing up the interior in a non tacky/professional kind of way.

I've been thinking of wrapping the entire interior of the car next year with leather or a suede or 50/50 mix of the two

Just some of the stuff that have sparked my attention have been these pics Ive found (unfortunatly they are 97 plus interiors, so my 96 can't steal these ideas)

I believe this is a two tone leather wrap

I believe this is two tone leather and alcantara suede

I believe this is an alcantara suede wrapped interior (not a camaro)

This one is carbon fiber (dont know how) tach part of the dash, with alcantara suede on the gauge pillar

I think leather, or leather/suede gives the interior a more sophisticated look. I wouldnt mine changing my deck to a double DIN with a navi/cd unit and wrap the entire interior in a leather suede combo, or maybe just two tone leather...like a black ebony and silver.

Have any of you guys done something like this?

Looks decent, I think the doors are the same from 96' to 97'. I have 02' door panels on my 96'.

they fit snug with the dash? or do they leave a gap?? I would much rather have the 02 doors on my car as I could steal some of these ideas and I think it would look better.

Install wise did you have to change anything to put the doors on?

I got ebony leather door panels they fit great just had to cut one clip off the 02' panels so it fit, I think it was just the one in the center of the top door panel.

The great thing about these cars is parts are interchangable.

I wanna grab a set of firebird door cars to replace my old disgusting 96. I know it would be a simple bolt on from a later model camaro to.

Firebird and Camaro doors mount up different, so getting a set for your Camaro might not fit right.

steve do you 02 doors look the same as the 96's? I have a feeling my above pictures only apply to firebirds :(...b.s how they get the nice interiors!

i like the leather wrapped look but never been a fan of suede, just looks kinda outdated to me :) the two-tone is kinda cool though, just dont go overboard on colors.. haha

Yes they look the same except they had an extra clip I had to cut off from the panel of the 02' door panel.

I saw some of his...I think he only wrapped a few things though...I want to wrap the A pillars, rear panels, trunk panels, everything...try to make the interior look less plasticy and more luxurious I guess,...

This is a good thread. I'm looking to eventually cover up my old worn plastic pieces. Or get rid of them completely.
