    Re: Leather/suede wrapped interior

So here are my thoughts right now as I am trying to get a sample book from Katzkins of all their different materials.

I am thinking about taking these two types of vents in the two pictures below and covering them in a black suede (not the actual vent itself, just the pieces that snap into the dash that hold the actual vent piece)

For the last pic of the console I plan to do the entire console in black leather, and make the part I circled in red a light silver coloured leather. I've been tossing around doing the ash tray lid in a suede to.

Also, the panel that houses the gauge cluster and HVAC control on our cars I am gunna make the same light silver colour I think.

Now, I've been thinking of moving the HVAC controls down to the cubby hole area, and having 3 gauges (2 afr and my Aeroforce) in the HVAC slot and I was going to wrap the entire cubby hole in leather as one piece so that you wouldnt know there is a seperate plate their (like the 6LE plate) as it would look as if it is molded as one piece

otherwise I would have to put the gauges down in that spot...but I feel like thats kind of low to be looking at gauges all the way down there.

What do you guys think about all of it?

I am trying to be light, but its also my DD, and I like the car to look nice...if I add 5lbs here, I'll find another way to take that 5lbs out somewhere else lol.

some guys on ls1tech were using some fast tack 60 glue or something...cant remember the name right now...but there are a few guys over there that have had theirs together and in the sun for a few years now

I wouldn't mind doing this to my car. I have a whole extra interior set to play with. Any pics of a Camaro interior in suede.

From what I heard you already are skinny. ;)

I wouldn't mind doing this to my doors, since they are cloth, but for the dash I'll probably just leave it alone.
