Is there a way that I could add a "cover" to the center console to put switches in it? Like take out the little cubbyhole hole and put something there to add a switch and 2 leds for an idea I have?

    Re: Cover to add switches

I don't know of anything commercially available that accomplishes that, but with a bit of fabrication, anything is possible. It could be as simple as a sheet of textured black plastic, dremeled to the correct shape, attached with a single cabinet hinge at the back and opened by a hole drilled in the front, or much more complex. Depends what you want and how much effort you are willing to put in.

I wanted to fabricate it myself. And I have all the time it takes. The only thing is this would be my first type of fabrication like this. So would you/anyone mind helping be out with maybe a little rundown?

but back to the topic at hand... how many switches are you talking about? i used a piece of 1/8" metal and cut holes in it for my switches and put it in my ashtray slot.

There would be one DPDT switch with two 5mm LEDs (at this point).
