  • Dupli-Color Paint....worthless

Had to get a new drivers mirror and needed to paint the little thing
so I bought a 8oz can of "perfect match" for my black 2000 Camaro.
Paint dried like a semi-gloss. Called the company & they gave me
    all kinds of excuses.
A person could do as well with $1.00 spray paint from Walmart.

    Avoid this rip-off.

Am I supposed to now spray with clear coat? That produces the shine mostly?

Yes, clear coat will give it a glossy finish, and protect it. With out a clear coat the paint wont last long. I suggest doing some homework on painting.

Thats why I painted my car with Rustoleum. Although it was rolled on it worked a hell of a lot better than Duplicrap or any rattle can job.

I do plan on repainting it soon. I want to glass all my RS ground effects to the body and go over the paint with an HVLP gun for better results.

Their clear coat is useless. I would advise getting a clear from another source and also getting the primer from another source as well.

Paintscratch.com has color match spray paint , I used them to repaint a spolier once and used their clear coat, came out perfect.

Yes, clear coat is where most of the shine will come from. Check out the painting and color sanding section in the how-to and FAQ sticky at the top of this section for a step-by-step to an excellent finished product.

I took the two cans of primer and paint back and got my money. I will just bring it to a small bodyshop in town and have him do it professionally as well as the nose
                      that needs it .

Dupli-Color Lettering... man you really wanna stand out.

The paint itself is not that glossy. You have to get the clearcoat.

I painted the roof on my SUV cherry red and once it dried up it was dull. Once I hit it with clearcoat the shine came out.

I sprayed my whole bumper with duplicolor primer, paint and clear and it came out pretty good. I was pretty surprised considering my 0 experience. Gotta do the research and work if you want anything to look good.

                            LOL on the font

X2 you can't expect show car quality paint if you're rattle caning... Especially if you didn't hit it with clear coat.

i sprayed my winter salad shooters with gloss black duplicolor engine temp paint. Glossy as balls. Gonna do my berger with it. Maybe your prep was no good or you did it wrong.
