Clear Coat Failure?

this has been really aggravating me and i want to know what I can do about it. Anyone had this issue?

Is it just oxidizing and turning white or actually peeling off (can't quite tell from the pics)? My clear coat is peeling on my hood and front fenders. My brothers eclipse has the issue with the clearcoat turning white (they actually came to a class action settlement over it as I see tons of black eclipses with this happening)

No there is no peeling its just very cloudy and reflective. If i rub my hand over it its smooth but not that glossy smooth if ran over a normal clear section on the paint. Ive compounded it before but that only lasts for so long and it goes back to the way it was

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it. It's happening beneath the clearcoat and moving up till it starts peeling it. This is unfortunate for most black cars and dark color cars that are park outside cooking under a hot sun.

thats what i was afraid of. I'm going to give this a shot, if I cant fix it i might as well try to make it less noticeable. It really is a shame I wish GM was a little less careless with their paint quality. I have a black 99 volvo and when shes clean and waxed it outshines my bird by a longshot.

I'm not sure if that's going to work. The thing is it's not on the surface of your clearcoat, but beneath it. Give it a try and let us know. My SUV is in the same boat too and I've tried pretty much everything to keep that from spreading.
