Techsan, is it really the cruise control module?? I've always wondered where that SOB was, it looks like it has a thick harness running to it though?
You may have just found me another few lbs to shave! This just made my morning.

Re: Extreme Weight Reduction
Questions! questions! questions!
where the heck is birdofprey didn't he strip one of these down to nothing?
Two pictures here folks.
1) In the Red is a metal bracket of some sort that I would like to put holes in. What is it? is this part of the crash support? bumper support? or is this a bracket pertaining to the latch of the hood? There appears to be two pieces to the bracket? Please advise on what these are and their function
2) In the red appears to be extra metal and possibly how my wheel well is being held together. Is this infact excess metal that can be cut away? or will cutting this result in my cars wheel well opening up on me?
Further to the back of this in red is part of a metal wall that is coming across from where the speakers are, is this support for something (kind of a crash support that distributes side impact in any way? or can I hole this out?

Re: Extreme Weight Reduction
updated. Didn't get nearly as much done this weekend as I intended, but I had some stuff to take care of before I take it to New York next weekend.
I didn't manage to get that other sway bar bracket off, maybe tomorrow.
On a good note though, I'm sitting at 13lb successfully reduced from the car, meaning just 87 more pounds to go!!. 3lbs of that is from the sound deadening that is in the trunk from factory. I estimate another 2lbs left on the floor of the trunk that I still need to scrape off.
I also chopped off the bracket for the spare tire, but I haven't smoother the piece down yet. All the progress/pictures are documented below.

Re: Extreme Weight Reduction
Well I am at approximately the 20% completed mark to meeting this goal. Today I managed to finally get the passenger side sway bar bracket off the car. I then turned over to the cruise control unit and cable and axed that. I updated a couple pics on my site. Man does getting rid of that cruise control unit free up space.
Total weight removed to date: 19.25lbs
