Ya they were removed a few years back. Same with the plastic cover panels underneath the dash...damn easy stuff is gone lol

Does anyone know, can you remove the wiring harness easily with the motor/trans still in the car?

dammit i'm determined to think of something.
i doubt it would be "easy" but very doable. just unhook the stuff from from the passenger kick panel and go from there. the only hard part i can think of will be. if you have to pull any bolts routing the harness around the trans/firewall.

Air bags havent been done. I don't want to remove any of the safety pieces in this car. That's what makes this project somewhat unique ;)

Couple questions here. Do we have inner rear fenders? Or are the red circled in these two pictures below part of the structural integrity of the car?

I want to know if I can hole saw it.

And then, while on the subject of identifying pieces, what the heck is this thing and why might I need it? It looks like a vent of some sort, except I have no idea what it might be venting...

My car is out of commission for the season with a blown head gasket, but I would still like to go and watch you guys make your runs. I'm kinda glad it happened, cause now I have an excuse to put in a cam and get the heads done. :excited:

That's a one-way valve that vents your HVAC to allow you to pull in outside air without pressurizing the cabin when the windows are up.

how does that work for the Hvac when that is located in the front?

Maybe i can just kinda chop the scoop out of it?

The farther away from the air vents, the more efficient the system can be at replacing the interior air with fresh outside air, moving it through the entire passenger compartment.

On four door cars, you may have noticed the vents located on one of the rear wheel wells in the door jam. On a four door, this is about as far back as the vents can be since the trunk is generally sealed from the passenger compartment. Since F-bodies are hatchback, they moved the vent all the way back.

I hit 2710 before the bird was gone - I never raced it at that weight though.

And there was probably another 150-200 pounds that could come out of the car.
