  • New Steering Wheel

Installed a new Grant wheel in my Firebird. The airbags have not worked since I bought the car, so that was no issue. I am very please with the way it turned out.

Looks good - aftermarket wheels are the way to go - my aftermarket.

That's really nice, but I don't know if losing the airbag for it is worth it. I've been in accident before where the airbag saved my face from smashing to the steering.

Agreed. Except that the airbags in this car have not worked since I own it.

where'd you get a adapter hub for it? I couldn't even find one on Grant's site. I have the Grant GT steering wheel and I wanted it for my 97 camaro since my airbags won't work either.

Looks good. I hate the wheel in my camaro but like the safety factor.

I used a MOMO adapter off ebay.

Summit Racing. Grant 3196 or 5196. I bought the 5196 billet adapter. You will need to modify the trim ring though. It needs to have about 3/16" of material shaved off or it will rub on the column. I used a Dremel tool with a cutoff disc to trim it. Took about 15 minutes.
