• 50 watt fog lights.

Well, I got rid of the 27 watt factory bulbs and put in some 50watt halogen bulbs. It gave a bit more light and only gets slightly warmer.

I tested it tonight and drover for like an hour or more. Didn't melt anything so far! :D

Instead of the factory 880 bulb I used a 885 for the slightly brighter fog lights. I was going to up the wattage on the yellow bulb driving lights, but I forgot that they are also our blinkers so I left those alone. Heh heh

Now if I could just find some brighter halogens in the factory sealed beams size of Rectangular 92mm X 150mm I'd be set.

I been searching for those and all I find are the stock 55low's and 65hights

They don't make a slightly brighter sealed lamp in that size?
    Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

Yes and no. You won't find anything at Advanced Auto or Autozone or Walmart. There is a company that sells a kit for our cars. It runs something like $100 and it involves some wiring and stuff. There have been some members that have rigged up some Silverstars and Bluemax lights but that also involves some work and a bit of luck. I upgraded my fog lights months ago and have had no problems yet

Yeah I didn't want to hack the back of the bulbs, and I found that auto optiks page and e-mailed them. They sent me back part numbers for lows and high lenses.

The part numbers are 4703C and 4701C. Then you cut the wires and put them on the backs. But, how do you know which wire goes where. I mean, there are only 2, but what happens if you get them backwards?

Too bad they just don't make brighter lamps in the factory Rectangular 92mm X 150mm size. :(

            Anybody know which color = + or - ?

Are the bulbs marked so you know where to plug them on?

            Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

              www.autooptiks.com

you can get 100W head light, that's what i have for my low beam and high beam. how ever i did the 50W fog light and melted everything, they i went down to 37.5W still melted, so i think i have to go to the stock 27W and i have to buy 2 new fog light houseings
