  • Cleaning bar between the t-tops

I'm not sure what its called but there is a shiney black bar between the t-tops and on my car its kinda splotchy. (sorry best description i can come up with) I tried washing it to no avail. What would be the best way to get this bar to shine black again? Also the same material is on a triangle next to both side windows. Anyone have any experience getting this stuff to shine?

    Thanks

    Tobes

Take the 10 screws out and remove it.
    Sand it,
    prime it,
    lightly sand it again,
    paint it,
    then clearcoat it.

The faded black (it's color now) will always be faded, no matter how much you clean it or wax it. It needs to be repainted.

if you are waundering the triangle is taped on with 3m tape and is a ***** to get off. make sure u take ur time, if u bend it up it will show. youll probable have to buy a new one if u bend it because the bend will be worse than the faded black.

those triangles are called "appliques" on the 98+ cars btw.

are you talking water splotches? like white colored soap residue? i put some Mother's dashboard preserve on a towel & wipe the appliques & the bar between the t-tops. it'll make it shine. i use the stuff on all the black plastic/vinyl/rubber on the car. works great.

There is some stuff in the stores that helps alot. Mothers makes it and so does Meguires and a few others. It's called something like black trim dressing or trim shine. It works awsome.
