I haven't cleaned these for a long time because...im lazy...anyway theres all this black stuff building on them, i think its tar and it seems impossible to get off. What is a good rim/wheel cleaner out there that will take this off??

If it's tar, get some tar & bug remover and standard wheel cleaner from an auto store. Also, pickup some good'ol fashioned elbow grease while you're there.
its chrome? ouch hope the chrome isn't pitted out...

thanks for your help guys. I dont think its real chrome i remember reading in the owners manual and it said "the color on you wheels is similair to the paint on your car" or something like that. Ill try claybarring it, i didn't even think of that, then ill try some tar remover. Thanks guys.

i got some stuff called hot wheels and it was in a pink/purple bottle. It may be maguires, but i dunno. I used it on my salads andit worked unbelievably. Got mine at local tire store.
When I bought my Camaro the wheels on it were very dirty with brake dust and such. I used some wheel cleaner made by Armor All and I was surprised how well it worked. I took the wheels off of the car sprayed them down with the cleaner let it soak for a couple of minutes sprayed it off with a water hose. That got most of grime off of the wheels, but I did scrub everything down with an S.O.S pad to get everthing perfectly clean. I guess if nothing else works you can buy a set of new shiney after-market rims!
