Using the proper towel is almost as important as the polish you choose! If there are any synthetics, like polyester, it will scratch the paint. Some important things to look for are 100% real cotton, and the made in the USA symbol. Don't be fooled by names like egyptian cotton, they basically mean it isn't 100% cotton. If the towels are made outside the US, their standards are different and it allows them to put 100% even though it isn't. And don't trust the feel to the hand. I have felt a number of towels with synthetics that actually feel softer than the 100% cotton towels, but they will put the fine hairline scratches in your paint. You can do a burn test to verify as well. If the towels burns clean with a "white" smoke and little residue, you should be good. If there is a black smoke then there are synthetics, don't use that towel. The same should be done on wash mitts. I just use another towel to wash.

If you are working on a show car, I would really look at buying some decent towels, especially a black show car. If your towels were purchased from a auto store, or Walmart/KMart, etc, throw them out!! You want Fieldcrest Royal Velvet or Fieldcrest Charismas for the best results. Sometimes you may find a version of the Fieldcrest towels at those stores I mentioned for cheap, but there is some question about them being a lesser version, so I would stay away from them. I use far better towels on my car than I do on myself :D Only use white towels.

Some important features are a heavy knap to help prevent dragging dirt particles on the paint. It will also make it easier to remove polish because there is more area to hold it rather than smearing it around. Cut the seams off to avoid scratches. Wash in liquid detergent with no perfumes or dyes. No softener or crystal type addatives. Dry on low heat to reduce static.

I know it seems obsessive, but if you are prepping a show car, I think you will appreciate the results. This applies to all polishes, not just Zaino. Your towels shouldn't be making it harder on you to get that finish we all want! Here is a link to the Fieldcrest Outlet and Charisma page, you can buy irregulars for cheap. $9.99 for a towel that goes for $30 in department stores.
