• Polished or Chrome Rims?

whats the difference? I'm getting some boyd coddington smoothie or smoothie 2 and I don't know which one to get. The Smoothie = polished and the Smoothie 2 = Chrome. I think the polished is cheaper but would it be better to just get the chrome? I know that chrome looks very good in person but I've never seen polished in person. Give me your opinions.....

Just visit one of your local tire or wheel center and check out some of the chrome ones and a polish ones. Some polish ones looks really terrible and some look just as good as the chrome. The chrome ones are always consistant. They look mirror like on all rims.

      My rims are "polished".

These aren't even the cleanest they get... ;)

alright thanx sandman for the pics. I think I'm just gonna get the polished. i don't see any reason to get the chrome when they basically look the same as the polished.

Actually, when those pictures were taken my rims hadn't been cleaned in a month or more.

Dads got 2 01 vettes, both wityh polished wheels, and they look great!! Best thing is, if they get scratched or chipped (within reason), they can be polished out, while chorme just flakes off and looks really bad.

it's not that hard to keep polished lookin like chrome...just give 'em a good scrubbing whenever you wash your car and spray a little polished wheel protectant/cleaner on them.

Actually, if you're talking about those cleaners in a spray bottle, they aren't so good. So they clean, but they have soo many chemicals in them.
Just use the same thing that you do on the paint, that will be fine. Or you can pick up some Mothers Chrome or Aluminum Polish, that does the trick as well
