  • wax on wiper cowl =( ???

Waxed the camaro the other day...

    came out great....

except i got a LIL' bit sloppy and some wax got on the little plastic wiper cowl.

also on the edge of the ttops....

I've tried EVERYTHING in my kitchen and garage

    -GooGone
    -Dishsoap
    -Acetone
    -Watered Down Bleach
    -Car Wash Soap

Nothing seems to work, what will take that wax off!!!??? It just makes my car look....I dunno I just dont like it!

      OMG!

I have this same problem too. I tried using a rag w/some gas on it(or a toothbrush), and it removed some of it, but then it seems to re-appear later....

      UGH!

        Peanut Butter

        I'm not crazy.

Smear it on, leave it there for a few.

The oils in it absorb the dried wax residue.

Mothers Back to Black works great for this. It will remove the wax and make the black parts look new again. I tried using it on my lug nut caps and it worked on them too. They look great.

Excellent product but be kinda careful as it is runny......

I usually let it set, for a bit, let it dry and take a too brus, and something like black magic of armour all to it to keep it clean. usuuallly works, I do the same when I get it on the fake hood scoops.

Happened to me too. I got it off with a little mixture of dawn dish soap and water, and an old tooth brush. came right off. Looked so good, I did the whole thing. looks like new now.

use a blow dryer, and heat it up, wipe it off after.

                    or

                    use some wd-40

if i blow dry it...yes it'll melt.....but wiping it will only spread the wax into the cowl even more.

WD-40.....if the peanut butter does not work. LOL

Dish soap and a dish scrubby pad, one of the green ones. It takes a bit of elbow grease, but nothing too bad. Had the same problem on the grill of my car, and this worked great.

Well, i was helping my friend detail his car once, and all the black rubber stuff was shot on his car. So we experimented. Canola oil was aboslutly money. It made everything that was black on the car look brand new. Especially the parts with old wax on them. Try at your own risk though.

i read the peanut butter thing and i just had to try it. Realized i had alot more wax on there then i thought. Worked like a charm! How the heck did you discover that? nothing would take that off. Alittle tip though, don't use chunchy peanut butter, another tip, don't accidently put the cap down on the hood....ugh, a whole new problem. Anyway, its a great trick.
