What kinda of temps does the paint need to be able to resist? I know the calipers can get pretty hot when I'm driving hard. I'm thinking 300 degree engine paint should do it. Anyone have experience to share?

The paint that I just bought was listed as caliper paint, at least thats what the label says and its listed as 1500 degrees. I would use high temp paint. Never hurts to be on the same side. Plus I think it would last longer anyway

1500 degrees? I think that's hotter than you have to worry about anything getting in the brake system. Way hotter...but I guess you wouldn't have to worry about melting the paint. :D

      anyone else?

i painted mine a few weeks ago, i used high temp red on the left front side and wal-mart fire red on the right front side just to see what would work better... on for approx. 3 weeks now and no paint has worn off, but the high temp paint even when i put it on had an orange tint to it so pretty soon im gonna paint all 4 with the wal-mart paint looks a lot better almost matches the car exactly, hope that helps. i also bought some clear paint from guess where wal-mart, gonne find a firebird decal of some sort and put it on the front 2 then do the clear to cover it up, hope that helps...

I used 500* low gloss black and 500* clear coat on mine... came out real nice!

BTW...you can get firebird caliper decals from afterthoughtauto.com? this is where i got mine...but they only come in brushed chrome (close to a silver)....
