I bought some Castrol Degreeser, it was said to clean the engine. So I sprayed it all over the engnine like the directions said scrubbed a bit then sprayed off with a hose. I did all this while the engine was cool. Now the engine cleaner has takeon off the finish from most of my engine. It looks all wierd and oxidized. Is there any way to replenish the good look of my motor. That degreeser really stripped off the nice finish my engine used to have. How do I fix this?

What parts of the engine are you talking about? I mean if its rubber hoses and such you may be sol without replacing them, but if it was like the intake manifold you could just try some good metal cleaner or polish. Something that has a grit in it should work.

Find a auto detailing place that will steam clean your engine compartment, it will probably run you about $30 or $40, if you ask me its worth it, makes it look brand new, that should fix your problem

i used to work for a auto detailing place still do it on the side but we would take a power washer and the big key is wet your engine first don't just spray the degresser on that will mess it up wet the engine first then spray degresser and spray off that is what we did we were also told not to do it without the car running but somethimes it got done with out the car running never had any problemes

if you want to see a NICE engine bay go to ironman24's web site and look at his it is sharp :D
