Well I worked at a chevy dealership in the detail department for a couple months so I can tell you what we did there.
If it was someone that was paying for a detail vs a car for the lot or one that someone purchased
Good wash on exterior w/degreaser on tires in engine compartment and wheel wells. It turns out spotless.
Shine tires and engine compartment
This one I use now; use a rag to wipe door jams while still a little wet. It cleans it out real good and leaves it spotless. Real handy.
Vacume and remove spots from upholstrey.
Clean interior, like armorall
Clean windows inside and out, use razor on anything stuck on.
Thats about it and basically it's just a real good job of cleaning the whole car. The only thing I miss about working there is having my car clean all the time. That and driving awsome cars all the time.1998 Red RS 3.8l A4
Whisper - K&N - N20 - 1LE Panhard - Ghetto STB - 255/50ZR16 Ecsta
Removed grille - Limo tint - blackouts - A-pillar cf a/f ratio
Panasonic DF88 - 1 12\" Eclipse 88120.4 - Eclipse 3322 amp
http://members.cardomain.com/raven_rs

I agree with Greg. I don't remember what it cost but I know it was WAY to much. Personally I love detailing my car. I can easily spend 6+ hours in one day just cleaning random things. I haven't done that in a while because I don't have the time but I love it. Also, this isn't exactly related, but if you haven't clay barred your car yet do it!! You WON'T regret it. Time consuming but by far the best appearence thing I have ever done.1998 Red RS 3.8l A4
Whisper - K&N - N20 - 1LE Panhard - Ghetto STB - 255/50ZR16 Ecsta
Removed grille - Limo tint - blackouts - A-pillar cf a/f ratio
Panasonic DF88 - 1 12\" Eclipse 88120.4 - Eclipse 3322 amp
http://members.cardomain.com/raven_rs

I spent 14 hours one day detailing my car. i got it washed with Dawn, Claybarred, Coat of Zaino Polish Lock, Coat of Zaino Polish, Coat of Swirl remover, detail mist, polished the rims, polished the tips, cleaned the engine bay, wheel wells, tires, washed floor mats, seats, and detailed the interior. Ther little spray of Citrus carpet spray finished it off :D
