  • Cleaning the paint before waxing.

Wow my car is as smooth as a newborn babies *** ...BUT in some spots i couldnt get all the crap off the paint. Whats good to use before you wax the car as far as cleaning the paint? I used citrus based bug and tar remover but that didnt work very well. I want my car to look as nice as possible as far as shine and im VERY happy with the meguiars gold class car polish. I just need something to clean the paint. I was thinking of waxing the car AGAIN today. Also that stuff KICKS *** on chrome wheels. Sounds stupid but when a waxed chrome wheel gets wet...its as though water never touched it. pretty cool idea.

I would recommend a clay bar, however the clay bar will remove whatever crap is on the paint but the wax will come off too. You'll just have to wax it again :D

Claybar is the only real way to get EVERYTHING off your paint. U don't realize it, but when you polish, you are still leaving oxidation and other contaminants on the paint.

Start with the clay bar like everyone else said, and stop waxing your car. Start putting Zaino on it. Believe me, Zaino is one of the BEST polishes (it is not a wax) you can get for your car. If you think your car is smooth and shiny now, wait till you try zaino. You WILL become addicted. I've been using it on my car for a year and a half, and everytime I use it, the paint looks even better.

You can use the clay bar on any part of the body of the car. Just make sure that the surface is always wet (like when you're washing your car with car wash stuff), and that you rinse off the clay bar often so that you don't rub the particles into your paint, which you have already picked up with the clay bar. It is also good to rinse off the area where you have already clayed the car. Don't rub too hard either.
I believe you can get a clay bar anywhere where they carry car supplies. Pep Boys, or Autozone might have it.

I don't believe you can get Zaino from anywhere else except from ZainoBros, or one of their local distributors. I could be wrong, but that's how I understand it. It is expensive, but it will last you a long time, and preserve your paint nicely. In the longrun it is worth the money IMHO.
