  • New front on 96 car.

Would it be possible to convert and old front on a 96 to a newer front with the new headlights and everything. How hard would this be. It looks almost like we have the same fenders. Just a different hood, front, and lights.

I've seen this done somewhere recently, it is possible, but is probably going to be expensive. Search the boards, it might have been on here that I saw it.

There is a kit for that. Can't remember where. It gives you the whole front end.

Unless someone makes a kit (and it looks like they do) you'll have to change the core support. Also, the headlights mount differently, and you'll have to acount for that.

Lots of welding, cutting and other nasty things.

The fenders have different part numbers, but I couldn't tell a difference by looking.

I dropped this project because of the fab work involved. If there is a kit, I might be inclined to try it...

everything in front of the windshield (hood, fenders, etc) has to be replaced. Fenders definately are different, look by where the lights mount on the 98+ compared to the 97-. It is different. Sells on ebay for 2500

only thing different is the body panels. Buy fenders hood bumper lights and bumper support and you are ready to go.
