OK, I put them in for the first and last time today. It spoils the whole reason I got a T top car.

As far as the last posting, did you retro-fit T tops like MT Mike? I thought all T tops came with a set of sun shades as standard equipment.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I've never put mine in cause I like to be able to look up anytime I want and see stuff above me and the earlier comment about chicks and stars is so true. But here in Houston it gets so damn hot hot either way that I just suffer cause even if I do putem in its still feels 200 degrees inside the car, just make sure your A/C never brakes and keep your eye open for shade!!

i have never used mine. I love being able to see **** that's above me. I'm 6'4" and sometimes i have to look out the t-tops to see the stoplight. if you don't like the sun, get deeper tinting.

I never got the shades for my 97 and would like to make some versus spending $100. How do they mount and has anybody made any? Thanks.

wow this thred is like 6 years old....

i dont know where you are looking for shades but 100 is way too much, i paid 40 bucks for mine and even that was expensive.
The attach with Velcro sticker type stuff. I guess you could make some with cardboard and fabric.

Wow - a 6 1/2 year old thread has been revived.

Six and a half years later, I still have my Firebird.

....And I still have not put the shades back in for the second time.

Re: Anyone use the T Tops sunshades?

As far as making some, you just need this:

Cut to match the shape of the T top. Spray paint to match your interior. If you want it to look nicer, stretch/attach fabric across each homemade shade.

As far as how they fit in, they just sit in the gap between the top and the car body.

I gues if anyone actually uses the velcro stuff, that would be used for keeping the shade attached ot the glass when you take the T top out. That does not seem to really be needed. Plus then you'd be driving around with these little velcro spots on your overhead glass.
