• Carpet Foam Padding

Well, i double layered my camaro (Under Dash/foot pedals -> Trunk, only part of the firewall) and trippled layered the t-top holder and fuel tank areas.

I took everything out from inside the car, except the Dash. I kinda pulled up the plastic mats? that are on the firewall and stuffed as much sound deadner sheets up it as I could.

It's still to loud, at first I could definetly tell a huge difference, but the Drone is still there. If i open my door and Rev the engine, flowmaster is loud, when I close it, i can still hear it, but much quieter.

I don't want to pay > $100 for more sound deadner "peel n seal" to tripple/quad layer.

I noticed that the carpet itself, has some sort of a weaved charcoal padding, I don't know what specifically it is / called, could i just add plain (white/yellow) foam padding underneath my carpet to help? Or does it have to be 'heat resistant'? I really can't stand the Drone sound anymore, I used to love my flowmasters, but its to loud. I'd hate to hear what a loudmouth or tsp rumbler would sound like from inside the car. . .

After searching Termpro Audio forums:
He mentions using padding would help

Dont know if it will work as deadener, and prolly would look getto as hell. Something similar that im gonna do is take out seats, console, carpet, etc. in a few weeks. Then put some sound deadener such as storm guard/weather guard/whatever else its called at homedepot. On top of that I will put some thin undercarpet cushioning, ya know the stuff that looks like padding that goes under carpets. This ive been told kills 99% of road noise.

Another question:
I searched audio termpro again for "hood liner" and nothing. .

My camaro has one, but would adding "peel n seal" under/around it help reduce the 'interior' noise? Or does most of the noise travel from engine -> firewall -> inside?

Since i'm kinda broke I can spend some money on a roll or two of more 'peel n seal' for the hood, but only if you guys think that'll help ***and look nice afterwards***

Otherwise i'm going to look for padding for carpet, and maybe dismantle the dash to fully layer the firewall?

Any opinions please, i know it's not going to sound like the quiet inside of a lexus or mercedes, but I don't want to buy a quieter exhaust.
If I had a coupe, w/out the t-tops, would it be much quieter since i could add deadner to entire roof? or that doesn't really matter//just wind noise.
Flowmaster sounds awesome when I hear it from the outside (like when my brother borrows my camaro, I like to hear it as he drives away) :D

(My dad refuses to ride in my camaro ever again because he says it's to loud, drone is annoying, and i'm going to go deaf) hehehe, I wonder what a V8 + bolt ons sounds like :D i've never been close to one, just seen on the rode, never sat inside one.

thanks for the compliment

Previosly, i've never removed my interior. When I decided to change from grey -> ebony, I added the sound deadner.

Friday night maybe 2 hours I removed cargo panels, sail panels, spare tire.

Saturday maybe 6 hours to remove back seats, driver/pasenger seat, kicker panels, console, carpet.

It was pretty much straight forward, EXCEPT rear torx bolt seats. Haynes manual suxks, I didn't get any helpfull info from it.

I only single layered the car the first time, put everything back. Took the rest of the day, so like 15 hrs.

But on sunday, I wasn't pleased with the extent of the noise supression :/ , this time since i knew what i was doing, 55 minutes to take Everything out, everything , double layered, tripple some, and another 1 1/2 hrs to reinstall.
