I think the work done on them is very nice but they look more like they're just aged or something than actual "gold"

Looks good, it looks similar to mine lol. Did you use Dupli-color bronze? You might want to polish the lip, it makes the rim look a little better.

Looks decent but i do suggest polishing the lip... just jack the rear up on stands, put the car in gear and let it idle then hit it with a dremel

thanks for the replies and criticizms.

I sanded them down first, put 2 or 3 coats of primer on them, put 3 coats of Dupli-color paint, and finished them up with 2 layers of clear coat.

I realize the color combo isn't for everyone, but I am real happy with the way they turned out. I get a lot of compliments on the rims.

What is involved in polishing the lip? Thanks again guys

If you decided to polish the lip you have to take all the orginal paint off. I used paint remover. Then move through the grades of sand paper 180-400, next I used a dremel to polish the lip going through different rouges. Mask off the lip (pin striping tape), rim and go through the prep stages, ect.

So far, they have been on the car over six months now. They do chip, if you smack the torue wrech in to it on accident, but overall they hold pretty well. Just like the car paint I did wet sand them to have more a glossy look.
