  • 18x9.5 C5 rims on back rubbing?

Do 18x9.5 rims with some pretty lo pro tires rib? Ive got the y2k c5 rims and they make a kind of grinding noise when i floor it or turn the wheel abruptly. Do I need spacers?

Also, the rims have some kind of clear coat thats almost totally pealed off. Should I use a chemical to remove the remaining or do I have to use elbow grease and polish them? Pics soon.

I dont think theyre rubbing, they just dont sound like theyre on correctly. Its like a metallic noise, its weird. Could it be the center bearings are too big?

i guess I just need spacers, but i hammered in the wheel well really well. I'm kind of pissed that no one ever responds to my posts on here. I just posted on camaroz28 instead.

            Teal,

I haven't had any problem with c5's rubbing. I didn't have to make any changes, just put them on.

You might be rubbing those rubber bumper things that are there to keep the axle housing tubes from hitting the body (jounce bumpers?). When I installed my C6 Motorsports 17x9.5, I hammered those things in about 1/8" on each side, just to be safe. Could be those.
