Wow..
Some of you may remember my previous post about this.. http://www.camarov6.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=5;t=006110
So I originally thought it was sawdust that was coated along side my car. Now I almost wish it was..
Long story short..I get a call from my brother. He said there was a red line of 'gritty' stuff along side his Cadillac. It was the exact same stuff that was on my car. My brothers brakes were going bad at the time,,and one of his co-workers told him that the 'stuff' was grinded up metal from the brake!
Unfortunately,,that completely makes sense in my case now too. My left front brake (where this stuff was coated the worst) was completely worn. I had no brake pad..it was metal grinding on metal. My friend said he saw sparks shooting out of my wheel when I was braking from high speeds before I replaced the brakes.
So basically I have grinded up metal along the whole drivers side of my car..and a lot on the front rim
Are there any different approaches I should take to remove this ****? Would a clay bar work on this? My mechanic recommended Bug and Tar remover..but that was back when I thought it was sawdust. Any ideas? I don't want this scratching up my paint by leaving it there.
