  • About paintjob

I'm lookin' to paint my car but I dont want to waste a lot of money on it, so here comes the question, if i paint my own car with some paint cans like Autozone has, and then probably take the paint off and then sand it to make it smooth, how long would it last? Would it be better just to wait for a while 'til i get some money so I can paint it? My car

what exactly do you mean by this? It sounds to me like you probably should just wait. A good paint job requires three things: good equipment, good paint, and experience.

      Absolutely.

Unless you are experienced with auto body work, I would not even touch anything like that on your car. My suggestion is NEVER use your car to learn on. Imagine sanding your paint, primering it, and then painting it with Autozone paint (or any vehicle paint) and having it turn out like ****! There's how many hours of work you put into it and not getting the results.

well renzo, unless youre talking about touch up paint, i would not suggest trying any paint work on your own car.

Is that in response to my post, because I agree with you and that's what I told him.

Man its crazy that you'd even consider that.
Save your money and get a good paintjob.
Dont skimp on the cash and then turn up with a crappy looking car

hye Renzo, u have the same name as me, lol
If I were you I would wait till your paint gets worst and then either get it repainted or get a whole new color, shoudl cost about the same. Worry about modding your car for performance or getting some tight rims.

Yea dude, you don't want to ruin your car. If your going to paint it youself at least use an air compressor and a real paint gun, lol. I've painted my old car myself but I bought some pretty nice equipment too, it didn't turn out bad at all. I'm actually a professional painter now though, lol. But dude, i'm looking at your car and I don't see anything wrong with the way it looks at all? Is it the color you just don't like? It looks in really good condition. Maybee consider just giving it a face lift. Experiment with a few appearance mods. And if your not trying to put money in it i'd just leave it like it is. You don't want to ruin the value if your not planning on keeping it or doing anything to it.
