  • Upgrading seats

Ok, right now i have manual cloth seats, and i want to upgrade to leather seats. While im at it i figured i'd get power seats. Do i need anything extra than what comes with the seats when i buy them or do i just have to run some power source to them?

i think in our cars that there is already a power thing there.. just gotta get the new seats and plug it in. not sure though, just go pull up the carpet behind the drivers seat and see.

nice, that'll make the swap nice 'n easy... i just gotta save up a little for the seats

i found a bunch on ebay, anyone have any preference of which seat they like best? camaro of firebird? The only difference i see is the headrest but im not sure if maybe one is more comfortable or sporty or whatever than another.

firebird ones, are more sporty... to get the Trans am ones with the inflatable portions I think you have to rewire something, not srue though.

I've done a full conversion, if you can call it that. I took the leather seats, front and back, and door panels, from a 2002 SS and installed them onto my 97 base model. The swap is straight forward, needing nothing special. It appears these camaros are all wired alike, even the provision for the rearmounted CD changer ! The power seat works as soon as you plug it in. My 97 had the wire/plug sneaking out from under the carpet. It takes a little time to switch them over, but nothing fancy. As for the seats, well, they are leather. I'm not too crazy about the side support. Other than that, cool.
