• carbon fiber look

was thinking of changing my graphite interior to black carpet and seats and a carbon fiber vinyl overlay for all the interior plastic. My exterior is the artic white. didn' know if anyone had pictures or had done something this extreme, but wouldn't mind feedback

Wrap the pieces in true carbon fiber.

but when you wrap them, don't you have to put some sort of resin on all of it?

Although everyone has their own taste, I personally don't like that look...at all!
My opinion though.

not diggin the seats but i think the look is ok . perhaps with a more recent look with some aluminum or silver trim. the completely carbon fiber armrest is a bit much for me-IMHO just a few carbon fiber accents would be best.

Did you send your pieces out somewhere to get them covered, or did you just order a stick on kit from somewhere like RKsport?

I think it looks good, IMO the carbon fiber look is nice if its not overdone.

Did you travel back to the early 90s to steal a pair of MC Hammer's jam pants to make that shifter boot?

haha just kidding man. Even though I don't care for it. It looks like you did a pretty good job laying the carbon fiber.

I purchased the fiber off of ebay, and then a gallon of *clear* laminating resin. It's really easy to do, just scuff up the piece you want to cover, use 3m spray adhesive to get it sticky, wrap the fiber on, and then mix some resin and put it on. Of course, it's a little harder than that, but not too much. Hardest part is getting the final results to be smooth as possible. Carbon fiber isn't for everyone, but I love it. To each their own. ;)

Edit: kinda hard to tell in the pics, but the boot is carbon fiber too, lol. I bought it awhile ago, and I'm still debating on how much I like it.

could you just put the raw carbon fiber on the surface with the 3m spray to give a more textured appearance?

You'd need something to protect the weave and the fiber. Some sort of resin or laminating sheet over it.
