  • Every stereo wire............cut clean!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I'm not in a very good mood right now. I finally had some free time today to investigate my firebird's system. I removed the left rear plastic trim panel in the hatch to see what the cut silver wire was for and found roughly 5 other wires that were cut. These are not factory wires since they are all purple in color and say GFX on the wires. Anyway, I then removed the long plastic trim and kick panel along the bottom of the drivers door and found a "FUSION" crossover.

Then....I removed the factory tape deck and every wire on the radio harness was held together with black tape; some bare wires were showing also. I'm a pretty p$#$#d right about now because the dealership said my car was equipped with a "monsoon" system. I still don't know for sure if this car had a monsoon system or not??? The rear panels way in the back hatch have grills on them but they both are empty; no speakers. (found factory wires with plugs laying close by). I also looked for the factory amp by the spare tire but didn't see it. I can't find any stereo codes on the door, just a vin number and tire sizes.

If a monsoon system was there then its been completely removed. (also found 4-sets of clear puny speaker wires taped into the head unit which then branch out to the speaker locations) Perhaps someone completely re-wired this thing??? All I know is I'm taking it to the dealership and showing them all the cut wires. Probably won't get me anywhere and it looks like I need to re-wire the entire system if they don't help me out.

Yes that's why I'm so mad right now. Sicker on the car said "premiem-monsoon" system. Hell, everything is missing.

Do "non" equipped firebirds/camaros still come equiped with grills on the far rear side hatch panels? I'm almost positive the non monsoon equipped models had "solid" panels in the far back; no grills. And I still don't believe that my car being fully equipped with every option (all power and full leather, only came with a tape deck stock?) I'm heading to the dealership now. The wiring on this car looks like freddy crugar got a hold of it.

I went to dealership but they were just about to close. They want me to bring it back in on Monday to take a better look at things.

For some reason they even cut the damn antenna wire in half in the hatch.(see pic) It makes no sense why someone would cut this. No wonder why I couldn't get hardly any radio stations. I'm gonna demand they replace the entire antenna wire from the HU back; you can't fix a cut like that can you?

I also included a picture of where I think the stock monsoon amp is. I'm pretty sure but I just want to make sure thats it so I can prove to the dealership the car is in fact equipped with a premium-monsoon system. The other picture is of some various cut wires I pulled out laying under the front carpeting. (can't see but some of the stock wires leading into the car door's rubber boot are snipped as well).

I just feel sick to my stomach right now cause I thought this car was a cherry; never touched, only has 11K miles on it.

I found out what factory system I have. I found the RPO codes and I have a "W55" stereo. Which is an am/fm cd-player w/ equalizer, 10-speakers and amplifier.

              Link to codes I found:
