• thinking about new tips, suggestions?

    i like these:

    borla - $140 each side at lmperformance.com

    megs - $90 each side at thunderracing.com

    fasttoys.net $85 each side

i reeeeeally like the borla but thats frickin expensive for tips. id be looking at $297 shipped for the tips. thats crazy expensive. all of this is just an idea and i might just stick with mine. but i need some ideas!

    what i have right now:

I like yours. I'm not a huge fan of the dual/dual unless you have some sort of GFX that wraps around them, or a Firebird.

yea i kind of like mine too, im just poking around lookin at new ones. even if i did get new tips, i wouldnt get them for a few months. gettin my cutout first!

does the size of the inlet matter as far as performance goes? or is it totally sound/looks? my tailpipes are 2.5" and i think the tips have a 2.25" inlet.

Don't spend that much money to tips dude. Not worth it. The z28 tips have 2.25" inlet. Since it is so far back in the exhaust system I'm not sure how that would affect your performance. I have a pair of black z28 tips if you want em for look change. Fresh new coat of hi temp black paint. I'll say $30 and shipping

pics? i kinda wana stay with stainless steel/chrome look to match my rims, but ill take look at em.

i really just wana know if this is bottlenecking at all. i think youre right though, its so far back it doesnt matter. but im still curious.

The Borla tips are nice, but there is NO WAY I would pay $140 per side. Not even for both! Look for a set of Firehawk Tips or something similar on ebay. I think they would look nice. Especially with GFX surrounding them.

i say get the megs. thats what i would get if i was in the market for new tips. the fasttoys tips are 85/pair (at least they were when i got them many years ago.) they're nice, but i wanted something bigger.

if you cant find a nice used pair at the right price i'd say stick with what you got. now if yorue asking which looks the very best, i like the fasttoys tips you posted. i think z28 tips chromed look just as good though...

Were you seriously considering paying 300 dollars for tips? I'm sure you could find a used borla for that.

so.. back to my flow question. does it bottleneck it at all having the inlet of the tips be .25 smaller than the size of the tailpipe?

shock_core: mine are shiny enough, theyre just stainless steel instead of chrome.
