• Removing small "dots" on rear window.....

Well my Firebird has these small black dots on the top of the rear window....I have been to several shops that tint glass and they say that they make the tint bubble (look at my previous post) my question is has anyone taken these small dots off?? Im thinking of getting a razor and gently take them off if possible. Does anyone know if these dots have a specific purpose???? I HATE THESE !#$@!# DOTS!!!!!
What I got you got to get and put it in you.

black spray paint nekka, mask off the rest of the area and paint over the dots with black paint. 1-2 coats should level the rear portion of the window out. Some shops will also put black vinyl sticker over the area so that it doesnt require any "tint" to be placed there.

my suggestion is find a better shop and spend a bit more money

Not gonna happen man. I am a line operator with Pilkington which is the company that makes the F-Body glass along with windshields, side lites, and back glass for EVERY brand sold in America and some overseas. We also make the glass for the space shuttle as well as several military aircraft. Those dots are called "dot matrix". It is a special paint that is baked on at 1300 degrees just before the glass enters the tong furnace to be tempered. I agree those dots are stupid. They are only on there for looks. It is near impossible to remove them completly. The best solution is to have a tint shop lay vinyl on either the inside or outside of the glass covering the dots. Mine is done on the outside and looks really good with my 5% tint. Let me know if you have any questions.

I live in KY and the F-Body glass is made in CA. I have already talked to our sister plant about making a few F-Body windshields out of galaxee glass. Galaxee glass is the dark glass out t-tops are made of. I get glass free of charge and would only charge friends of the board enough to cover shipping. We could arrange a COD even. This isn't something that will happen anytime soon. most likely early spring. I'll keep you posted

windshields, as in fronts?

if you do the backs... PLEASE keep me in mind,
Ryan212@aol.com

Side windows in galaxy glass would be sweet as well. "honestly officer, it not tinted"

The shop is full of

Get a better shop, My tint place tinted it NO BUBBLES

They are just saying that, cause its a PITA and they rather not spend the time.

Oh I just relized that you live in Los Angeles, If you want a go to a good place, go where I went.

Its called:
A TINT OF GLASS
10661 ELLIS AVE, FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA 92708
Phone: (714) 964-4204

They usta do the Fbodies for Westminister Pontiac, so they done it quite a few times.
It only cost me 90 bucks, but I have built up a good relationship with them because I have had 3 cars done there.
