I just put my new grille on... even though it is just a stock replacement it is nice to have the front plate holder gone. I know we are required to have a front plate here in TX but I didn't like it where it was. Until I think of a place I can mount it that doesn't destroy the car, I'm going to run it this way. I made a writeup for those interested in removing their stock grille or removing their front bumper cover.

Ummm, yeah because I wanted to spend 50+ bucks to have the front end in the same condition it was before the project. If you read just the post alone you'll notice I WANTED to have the plate holder off of the grille.
I guess with the bumper being so small and everything a license plate just couldn't fit anywhere else. If I put the front plate back on it would have to go back on the grille.
BTW, vanbibber in response to your post I have thought about that option too. But I'm not going to do too much thinking about mounting it in a different spot at all until I get enough hell from the police to warrant putting it back on. For now, I like it this way.
