what about if you put down a base color of ?high temp paint primer?, then got some regular som paint, and then put some high temp clearcoat on it. i have no idea if it would work, but its an idea...
thinking more about this... i guess the paint could still cook off at the som paint inbetween. im not really sure on this one.

This will definitely work. This is how I got the calipers on our Corvette to match the paint color.
First, you want to clean the area to be painted. Then, I sanded the caliper with a 220 grit sandpaper. Then I primed it with a high temp primer. After sanding the primer to a 400 grit paper, I put the maroon basecoat on it. After a few coats and plenty of drying time, I applied a chrome CORVETTE decal. Then, I sprayed it with a high temp clearcoat.
I will probably be doing the same to the calipers on my Lincoln LS, but with the Lincoln star.
